Partenkirchen, the older of the two sides of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, has a wealth of historic sights. Highlights include the “Plague Chapel” put up during the Thirty Years’ War, beautiful frescoes, the State School for Woodworking, the Partenkirchen Kurpark and some wonderful stories about Ludwig the Bavarian, Henry the Lion and St. Mark. There is a good chance to have dinner afterwards for those who are interested. Rain or shine, this trip will go!
