2022 Army Family & MWR Library Summer Reading Program

presented by United Through Reading

Read Beyond the Beaten Path with the Army Family & MWR Library Summer Reading Program presented by United Through Reading

During the summer months, Army Family & MWR Libraries around the world will host a range of free activities for children, teens, and adults that encourage and support a love of reading.

Participants also can earn incentives by reaching their reading and activity goals.

Sign up online and stop by your library today!

If you are not near a base library, you can participate in the DoD-MWR Virtual Summer Reading Program. This new online program is designed for Guard, Reserve, and Active Duty kids & teens who live far from military bases. Click here to register for the Virtual Program: www.DoDVirtualSRP.org

For 32 years, United Through Reading has connected military families through the power of shared story-time. Whether separated due to deployment, temporary duty assignment, or stationed away from their loved ones, service members can always be available for story-time with a United Through Reading recording. At over 200 locations around the world and on their free, mobile reading App, service members can make a recording anytime, anywhere.

United Through Reading recordings are not only a great way to stay connected and involved with the children in your life, but also help to build literacy skills in military children. Each recording comes with a free book, allowing the child to read along with their service member.

The free and secure United Through Reading mobile app has 10+ e-books preloaded so  recordings can be made the moment it is downloaded. After uploading the recording, request  the complimentary copy of the book. Continue to access e-books, request a book directly from United Through Reading, or use books from your own library to build a recorded story library right in the app, conveniently available to access whenever the child wants to enjoy a story.

This summer, United Through Reading is proud to sponsor the Army Family & MWR Summer Reading Program. After program registration, download the United Through Reading app. Visit the library to receive your free first book and make your recording onsite at the summer library story station.
