USAG Bavaria will provide a space to participate in the Murph Challenge. The Murph Challenge is a Hero Workout named after Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in Afghanistan June 28, 2005. From Patchogue, N.Y., Lt Murphy was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor after his death. The Murph Challenge itself consists of a one-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats and another one-mile run, all done consecutively. The most difficult part of the Murph Challenge is the sheer volume and length of the workout.
