Murph Challenge

Challenge yourself to this Hero Workout.

USAG Bavaria will provide a space to participate in the Murph Challenge. The  Murph Challenge is a Hero Workout named after Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in Afghanistan June 28, 2005. From Patchogue, N.Y., Lt Murphy was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor after his death. The Murph Challenge itself consists of a one-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats and another one-mile run, all done consecutively. The most difficult part of the Murph Challenge is the sheer volume and length of the workout.

Once registered, participants will receive a confirmation email that will provide more information about the event.

For Time

  • 1 mile Run
  • 100 Pull-Ups
  • 200 Push-Ups
  • 300 Air Squats
  • 1 mile Run
  • All with a Weight Vest (20/14 lb)

There will be RX and Scaled Divisions, each with male and female Participants. Weightlifting belt is authorized. Wrist wraps and chalk are authorized.
